Ok so get this - there's coconut trees everywhere. Which is wild as it is - But anyway, coconuts are heavy fellas and they fall when they're ripe and they're a big risk to heads and roofs and stuff. So there's lads who go round the island with a monkey on a long lead. And they bring the monkey to your property and he runs up the trees and knocks down the coconuts. It's wild. Just this fella and monkey hanging round going to work every day. Also, monkeys are freakishly like humans. Primates in general are. It's like an uncanny valley but you feel empathy instead of uncanniness. You can donate to help primates in captivity in the states here if you want: primatesanctuaries.org
